FROG STORIES, INC.
The funeral home formed a partnership with Frog Stories, Inc., a small family company, this past fall when several children’s books were purchased for the Aftercare Program. The business was started by former elementary school teacher, Doris Davis (Grandma Dee Dee). She began writing the Frog Stories in response to her concern about explaining difficult issues, such as illness and death, to her grandchildren. These children’s books are truly wonderful and very unique! Good-bye Grandpa Frog prepares children for the funeral home experience. Helping Children Through Grief encourages children to ask questions about death and to record memories of their loved ones.
Aftercare Provider, Julie Martin, began sharing the books with the VNA Hospice Social Workers, area counselors, teachers, and other professionals. Frog Stories, Inc. became aware that their books were being shared throughout the community, and were very pleased.
Gardinier Funeral Home was named the honorary customer of year and was awarded with an extra box of books! Julie has continued to share the books with those in the community and beyond.
